Boys Seen Hanging Out Of Waymo During Rush Hour In Santa Monica

A witness called Waymo customer service and was told the company could shut off the vehicle, but it did not, KABC reported.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A group of boys seen Friday hanging out the windows of a Waymo during rush hour in Santa Monica left one community member concerned, according to reports.

Rojia Shahsavani took photos of the situation around 6 p.m. on Olympic Boulevard, KABC reported, adding Shahsavani estimated the boys ranged in age from 10-15.

She and other drivers yelled at them to get back in the car but they did not comply, according to KABC, which added Shahsavani also called Waymo customer service and was told the company could shut off the vehicle, but that it did not.

Santa Monica Lt. Lewis Gilmour told the Los Angeles Times that local law enforcement had not received reports about the incident but that witnesses should contact the police department.

Waymo did not respond to comment requests from KABC or the Times.
