Celebrate the grand opening of TCG Paradise & Collectibles, Santa Monica’s new destination for trading cards, tournaments and collectibles. “TCG” stands for “Trading Card Game.” The new brick-and-mortar shop brings together leading names in collecting and trading cards—including Pokémon, One Piece TCG, Disney Lorcana and sports cards --alongside collectibles, Japanese anime, figurines, toys and novelties.

The grand opening festivities will include a Family Raffle -- the first 20 families through the door will each receive one raffle ticket (1 entry per family) for a chance to win one of 20 prizes, including a Luffy Dodgers Promo One Piece card, booster boxes, free card packs, a Magic: The Gathering Hobbit bundle, a plushie surprise box, and cash. Additionally, each child who attends will get to rip a free pack with store founder and CEO, 8-year-old Lucas Ching. Refreshments will include pizza, salads, desserts and ice cream.

With a focus on building an in-person community, TCG Paradise & Collectibles will host play nights, card rips, sports card breaks and trade nights. A portion of the proceeds will support animals and underprivileged children.

Trading cards have become a cross-generational cultural phenomenon, captivating kids, longtime collectors, and investors alike through nostalgia, renewed interest in sports and pop-culture collectibles, and the chance of a rare, valuable pull. This hobby is very real—not merely speculative. Pokémon cards was reportedly the world’s top toy property in 2025, generating $2.5 billion in U.S. sales

Lucas Ching, the 8-year-old founder and CEO of this family-owned business, started collecting cards before he could tie his shoes. He believes that “playing and collecting together is more fun than doing it alone.”
