The City of Santa Monica’s Thirty-Ninth Emergency Supplement signed yesterday extends the City’s local emergency orders, with certain specified exceptions, to September 30, 2021.

While Santa Monica continues to make progress with vaccinations, LA County Department of Public Health has reported a 500% increase in COVID-19 cases over the last month, with 11% of Delta variant cases among vaccinated individuals.

"We need everyone to help protect those who are unable to get vaccinated and most vulnerable in our community,” said Interim City Manager John Jalili. “LA County has experienced a substantial increase in COVID-19 cases over the last month and it is critical that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear face masks indoors when everyone’s vaccination status is unknown, stay home if they experience COVID-19 symptoms, and follow quarantine requirements.”

The Thirty-Ninth Supplement does not extend certain provisions of prior emergency orders, with the result that:
