Coroner IDs Scooter Rider Killed In Santa Monica Hit-And-Run
The 41-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
SANTA MONICA, CA – The Coroner's Office Friday released the name of a 41-year-old who was killed while riding a motorized scooter in Santa Monica.
The man was identified as Michael Ramljak, according to the coroner's office.
The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. on March 15 in the 2700 block of Third Street, Santa Monica Police Lt. Saul Rodriguez said.

Ramljak was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
"A preliminary investigation revealed that the male victim was riding a personally owned electric scooter southbound on Third Street when for unknown reasons he fell onto the roadway," Rodriguez said.

"As the victim remained on the roadway, he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Third Street," Rodriguez said. "The driver stopped and exited his vehicle (but) fled the scene prior to first responders arriving."
The vehicle was described as an older-model, off-white or tan four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry with possible damage to the front passenger's side.
The suspect was described as white man, 30-40 years of age, 6-feet-2 inches tall, with a medium build. He had a shaved head or very short hair, and he wore prescription glasses.
