Daniel F. Kelly, M.D. Awarded 2016 Hospital Physician Leadership Award by the Los Angeles County Medical Association

SANTA MONICA, CA – Daniel F. Kelly, M.D., professor of neuroscience and neurosurgery at the John Wayne Cancer Institute and director of the Pacific Brain Tumor Center and Pituitary Disorders Center at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, was awarded the 2016 Hospital Physician Leadership Award by the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA) at its 5th Annual Los Angeles Healthcare Awards on Thursday, November 3rd in Beverly Hills. The event recognizes individuals such as Dr. Kelly and institutions for their exemplary contributions to improving access to quality healthcare in Los Angeles County.

“In the neurosciences, we are continually challenged by such daunting problems as malignant and benign brain tumors, stroke and movement disorders. So, it is an honor to be recognized by my colleagues and peers, and I share this award with them because it takes a collective effort to continue enhancing patient access to high quality innovative medical care,” says Dr. Kelly

Dr. Kelly who has been awarded the Southern California SuperDoctors distinction 11 years in a row (2006-17), is internationally recognized in the field of minimally invasive and endoscopic keyhole surgery for brain, pituitary and skull base tumors. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and more than 25 book chapters on topics of surgical outcomes and techniques, patient satisfaction and complication avoidance for a wide range of brain and skull base tumors. He oversees the neurosurgical fellowship training program at John Wayne Cancer Institute and is a member of the Providence Saint John’s Board of Directors.
