Dylan McDermott Won't Be Charged In Alleged Santa Monica Assault
Dylan McDermott, who starred in "The Practice," had been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1991.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Allegations of sexual assault lobbed at actor Dylan McDermott exceed the statute of limitations, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Friday.
The allegations were not made publicly, and details of the alleged crime remain a mystery. The Santa Monica Police Department referred the case to prosecutors in May. It's the fourth time this week that Los Angeles prosecutors announced they would not pursue sexual assault charges against a famous actor.
McDermott, known for his TV roles in "The Practice," "American Horror Story," and "LA To Vegas," was accused of sexually assaulting an acquaintance in 1991.

"The allegation is outside the statute of limitations, therefore, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence is not warranted and prosecution is declined," the District Attorney's Office announced.
A representative for the actor told TMZ, "Mr. McDermott learned about these allegations last year and trusted that the process would end exactly as it has."

Earlier this week, the same prosecutor's task force announced it would not file charges against Kevin Spacey, Steven Seagal, and Anthony Anderson. Spacey and Anderson had been accused of sexual assault, and Seagal was accused of rape. Prosecutors concluded that the allegations against Spacey and Seagal exceeded the statute of limitations while there was not enough evidence to charge Anderson.
