Elīna Garanča

If you see a blazing trail of stardust over Santa Monica, it is most likely the rising star of stunning mezzo-soprano, Elīna Garanča. She’ll be performing the works of Mozart, Schumann, de Falla, Saint-Saëns, Bizet, and Chapí. Born into a musical family, this Latvian opera sensation has appeared at the world’s major opera houses and concert venues, establishing herself as one of the music world’s brightest discoveries with a voice that has been called, “creamy, silken, and lustrous.” Among her compelling stage portrayals, the alluring sensuality of her Carmen at New York’s Metropolitan Opera has been known to send shivers down the spine and make grown men sigh.

This recital is generously underwritten by the Lloyd  E. Rigler – Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation.
