Poor social skills are often learned. Children’s Assertive Communication (CAT) training is an evidence-based social skills training program that is fun, active, rewarding and educational. Kids will practice a series of predictable social challenges with a Super Coach, actors, and directors.
Meeting weekly over two months, children practice making friends, solving problems, coping with a bullying peer, and asking for what they want.
Children take turns in their roles as actors and directors. Tokens signal to the kids when they are being assertive.
