OTB educational and developmental groups are specialized classes designed to encourage brain development through multi-sensory stimulation. We are not a music class, support group, nor a Mommy & Me class. Although, we recognize and support the value of those types of classes, we are not categorized as such. Our classes are designed to be educational for both baby/child and parent. We follow the format of an educational program which includes curriculums for infants, small children, and their parents. Our groups focus on activities that stimulate the brain and enhance learning through play. All of our activities are supported by research.
Young Baby (YB) classes are suitable for babies who are not yet crawling. Babies can start as early as 8 weeks old when the inner ear has fully developed. These classes all begin with stretching and end with infant massage. In the middle, we use multi-sensory cues to stimulate the brain to include visual tracking, audio tracking, easy motor skills, music & movement and vestibular activities. Much emphasis is placed on attachment and bonding and parent/caretaker - child interaction. These are our youngest "brainy babies."
