Evi Debes Brings Contemporary Art Exhibition To Santa Monica College

The exhibition will run from July 13-September 6 on Santa Monica College's Emeritus Campus.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Local artist Evi Debes' "Ewigkeit" exhibit will be at Santa Monica College's Emeritus Art Gallery from July 13-September 6. Debes, a "beloved art instructor at Emeritus," according to a statement from Santa Monica College (SMC), is now retired and attends classes at SMC as a student. Her works are "expressive, vibrant, and charming," according to the statement, and her art ranges from paintings, to collages, to sculptures.

"'Ewigkeit,' and Austrian word for 'eternity,' is the word that I believed my name Evi came from," Debes said in a statement. "As a child, I puttered around for an ewigkeit. Now my creative process is to play with my materials until a poetic connection occurs, like improvisation leading to innovation."

Evi Debes presents "Ewigkeit" at Santa Monica College's Emeritus Art Gallery from July 13-September 6.

Debes also taught art classes for the Los Angeles County Parks and Rec Department, and has exhibited her art in various galleries.
