SANTA MONICA, CA — Heavy rains have swept Los Angeles Monday morning, and the National Weather Service is warning of potential flooding in Santa Monica Monday through 4:15 p.m.

The city could see roadway flooding and debris and mood in the roadways, NWS said.

Los Angeles is expected to see heavy rain through Monday evening, with areas generally getting between 0.25 and 0.50 inches of rain per hour, and up to 0.75 inches per hour, according to NWS.

Motorists are advised to turn around if they see flooding on roadways, not drive through. NWS said that most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

The rain has already wreaked havoc on the road ways Monday, causing obstructions and traffic throughout the city.
