SANTA MONICA, CA — What police said was a glitch in a new security camera system may have inconvenienced some Santa Monica residents as the cameras played classical music at top volume on Tuesday, police said.

The new security system was installed one week ago in strategic locations citywide to enhance public safety and protect the community, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

"The cameras discourage park trespassing after hours, helping to ensure safety at the park and in surrounding residential and commercial areas," police said on Facebook.
