Little Yogis To Kick off International Kids Yoga Day​ Wednesdsay At Santa Monica Pier

Kids were invited to take part in the International Kids Yoga Day​ celebration Wednesday at the Santa Monica Pier.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Children in Santa Monica joined kids around the world in celebrating International Kids Yoga Day on Wednesday, kicking off a wave of 40,000 kids doing yoga around the world.

The celebration began at 4 p.m. on the Santa Monica Pier next to the Mariasol Restaurant with a concert by Michael Cladis and performances by the Westside6 band, and the Down Dog character doing yoga with kids.

The event ended with 40 child from the Santa Monica Boys and Girls Club joining local kids to take part in a 5-minute yoga session led by the event's founder, Teresa Power, author of "The ABCs of Yoga for Kids."
