A Santa Monica-based company has recalled a yoga mat imprinted with an image of the Hindu deity after a the head of a religious organization said Ganesha was not meant to "trampled on."
Yogamatics, which makes custom and colorful yoga mats, quickly apologized after Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, sent media a press release calling the Ganesha mats an “inappropriate usage of Hindu deities or concepts for commercial agendas.”
