Man Arrested for Making 405 Freeway Bomb Threat, Police Say

An offramp in Westwood was closed down this morning due to a bomb threat that turned out to be unfounded.

A man was taken into custody today for allegedly making telephoned bomb threats that led to the closure of the offramp from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Westwood area, authorities said.

Officers sent to the area near the Sunset Boulevard offramp arrested the man about 6:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The ramp was reopened after the suspect was taken into custody. No bomb was found, said LAPD Officer Jack Richter.
