Police Arrest Teenager On Suspicion of Sexual Assault At Santa Monica Beach
An 18-year-old Los Angeles man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman at Santa Monica Beach.
SANTA MONICA, CA -- A Los Angeles man has been arrested for an alleged assault of a sexual nature against a woman in broad daylight at Santa Monica Beach, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man, Dartanyan Montgomery, is accused of assaulting a woman in the 1600 block of the oceanfront around noon on Saturday, police said. The alleged victim escaped and alerted lifeguards, authorities say.
Police officers then located and arrested Montgomery about 45 minutes after the incident and he was booked into the Inmate Reception Center on Bauchet Street in Los Angeles, according to Sheriff’s Department jail records.

Montgomery, who's listed at six feet tall and 160 pounds, is charged with a felony. He's being held on $100,000 bail, records show.
A Santa Monica Police Department spokesman said both Montgomery and the alleged victim are homeless.
