Production Company Expands Santa Monica Presence

Stardust's West Coast headquarters is now located in a 8,000-square-foot studio at 1823 Colorado Ave.

Santa Monica's business community just got a little bit bigger: Stardust, a production company that specializes in design, motion graphics and live-action, has expanded its West Coast headquarters here in town.

Stardust's West Coast headquarters is now located in a 8,000-square-foot studio at 1823 Colorado Ave., a representative told Santa Monica Patch. The company's previous headquarters was located on Main St.

The growing company also has an office in New York.

The new Santa Monica studio will be used by Stardust's animation and production teams, and is intended to accommodate the company's burgeoning team of animators, designers, directors and producers.

Stardust's new Santa Monica office will house 45 to 60 employees, depending upon the project load, the representative said.

The studio has open, warehouse-style architecture and includes spaces for animation, design, effects and live-action production. Among other new equipment, the studio will feature two render farms—for the creation of CGI—in addition to multiple edit suites. Client work spaces will be housed there as well.

"The move was a no-brainer for us," Stardust founder and Executive Creative Director Jake Banks said in a statement. "We moved into a larger space that fits our vibe and size perfectly. ... This new HQ fits the bill perfectly and has ample parking to boot."

Stardust has previously worked on projects for AT&T, Microsoft, Nike and many other major companies. The studio is currently developing projects for The Art Institute, BET, Children's Hospital and Citgo.

Correction: Stardust's West Coast headquarters was previously located on Main St.
