Fatal 405 Freeway Crash Triggers SigAlert In West Los Angeles
The fatal crash shut down three lanes of 405 Freeway traffic near National Boulevard throughout the morning rush hour.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A fatal crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles Thursday morning triggered a SigAlert that was ongoing as of 8:15 a.m.
The crash on the southbound 405 Freeway at National Boulevard occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m., and the carpool and two left lanes remained closed nearly four hours later as investigators worked to clear the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of an SUV hit the center divider, causing the vehicle to roll over and block two lanes of traffic, according to the CHP.
