Santa Monica Crews Knock Down Vehicle Fires In Parking Garage
One person was hospitalized and two others escaped from a fire at parking structure that involved at least four cars.
SANTA MONICA, CA — A fiery multi-vehicle blaze sent one person to the hospital following a traffic collision inside a parking structure in Santa Monica, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire on the 300 block of Broadway, where they found heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the 4th Street side of the garage, the Santa Monica Fire Department reported.
Four cars were involved, with each having a single driver. All drivers were able to free themselves safely and receive treatment from paramedics. One person was taken to a hospital.

Crews faced small explosions due to electric batteries inside the cars, but were able to put the fire out in 20 minutes.
The fire is under investigation, officials said.
