Santa Monica Farmer's Market Canceled Saturday
Santa Monica canceled its downtown farmers market, citing the "dynamic nature of potential events this weekend."
SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica Farmer's Market is closed Saturday, city officials announced. It's unclear why city officials are closing it.
In a statement on social media and their website, the market announced this statement:
"Due to the dynamic nature of potential events this weekend, the City of Santa Monica will temporarily close the Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday, June 6 to ensure the safety of all vendors, customers and staff," according to the market's website. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and wish you all a safe and peaceful weekend. We look forward to seeing you at next week’s Wednesday Farmers Market on June 10 and will share any additional updates we receive."

Santa Monica's Farmer's Market had temporarily shifted last month during the coronavirus pandemic to two days each week, Wednesday and Friday only at the downtown location near Arizona Ave & 2nd Streets.
