Santa Monica Hotels Offer Hero Rates To Health, Emergency Workers
Several Santa Monica hotels are staying open during the coronavirus and offering hero rates to health care workers.
SANTA MONICA, CA — Several Santa Monica hotels are offering "hero rates" for health care workers and first responders on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Shore Hotel, Ocean View Hotel and Santa Monica Hotel have kept their doors open while Santa Monica's tourism industry has taken a hit, Yo! Venice reports.
Health care and other essential workers can keep supporting hotel staff and protect their own families as they work to fight the coronavirus pandemic at area hospitals, according to Jon Farzam, vice president of the hospitality group.

“Our Hero rates are an opportunity for us as responsible hoteliers to support healthcare workers and first responders during trying times. Providing close to work accommodations for well-deserved rest between shifts and the ability to keep their families safe at home, free of risk,” Farzam told Yo! Venice.
People who are in direct contact with COVID-19 patients are given priority for hotel rooms at these locations, Farzam said.
