Santa Monica PD Investigating Possible Residential Murder-Suicide: Report
Two 54-year-olds were found dead with gunshot wounds during a welfare check at an Ocean Avenue residence in Santa Monica.
SANTA MONICA, CA -- Police are investigating after two 54-year-olds were found dead during a welfare check at an Ocean Avenue residence in Santa Monica, according to local news website The Argonaut.
Both people, who have yet to be identified, were found with gunshot wounds and in a state of decomposition at a residential complex in the 1900 block of Ocean Avenue, according to the article, which was published Feb. 19.
They were found following a request for a welfare check was made by a family member who was unable to contact the occupants for multiple days.

Police have said they're withholding the identities of the deceased until relatives have been notified. Detectives from the Santa Monica Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are said to be treating the incident as a suspected murder-suicide, based on a preliminary investigation. There are no outstanding suspects in the case, and the individuals knew each other.
