Santa Monica Pier Under Ocean Water Use Warning
The warning comes as recent water samples revealed high bacterial levels, public health officials said.
MALIBU, CA — Authorities warned residents to take caution and possibly avoid the ocean at Big Rock Beach in Malibu and Santa Monica Pier this week.
Residents were urged to be careful of swimming, surfing, and playing in the water at both of these beaches amid higher bacterial levels detected in the water, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said.
"The warning has been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested," public health officials stated.
