Santa Monica Seafood Acquires Top Competitor
The local, family-owned distributor announced Monday morning that it has acquired Long Beach Seafood Co.

Santa Monica Seafood announced Monday morning that it has acquired one of its biggest competitors, Long Beach Seafood Co. The former company is assuming control of the latter's corporate name, inventory and customer base, among other assets.
While the family-owned and -operated Santa Monica Seafood has been around for 72 years, Long Beach Seafood Co. was 18 years older.
Santa Monica Seafood will now have "the largest seafood sales, customer service, purchasing and delivery teams servicing Southern California and the greater Las Vegas and Phoenix areas," the distributor said.

Among those coming onboard following the deal are Long Beach Seafood President Tony de Lucia and VP of Sales Star de Lucia.
"Long Beach Seafood was one of our most well-respected competitors in Southern California," Santa Monica Seafood President Anthony Cigliano said. "Both companies are quality-minded organizations with over 160 years of combined history in the seafood distribution business. The combined customer base of Santa Monica Seafood and Long Beach Seafood represents the largest segment of the highest quality restaurants, hotels and country clubs in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona."

In addition to Santa Monica, Santa Monica Seafood has a retail outlet in Costa Mesa.
