Santa Monica's Pacific Dining Car Closing Amid Pandemic
The restaurant has operated since 1921 in Los Angeles and will close its Santa Monica location.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica steakhouse Pacific Dining Car is closing its Westside location and will continue working to reopen its Los Angeles restaurant.
The restaurant group announced Tuesday that they were closing in Santa Monica following impacts from the pandemic and invited the public to join an online auction through June 22.
"Our Santa Monica location is a casualty of the coronavirus crisis, and the contents of the restaurant are available via our ONLINE AUCTION. Additional memorabilia is available in our shop," Pacific Dining Car announced on Instagram.

"We're deeply grateful to our staff and customers for nearly 30 years in business on the Westside. We are working to reopen our downtown Los Angeles location, with consideration to the city mandates, as well as your optimal enjoyment."
Kitchen equipment, table settings, furniture, paintings and decor are available starting at $1 for bidding.

Pacific Dining Car opened in 1912 in Los Angeles and opened its Santa Monica location in 1990, according to EaterLA.
