SMPD Arrests Murder Suspect In Michigan
The suspect knew the victim and fled California back to his home in Michigan after the other man's death, according to SMPD.
SANTA MONICA, CA — The Santa Monica Police Department arrested a man in connection to a murder that happened in November where officers found someone with multiple stab wounds inside a vehicle, authorities announced Friday.
The suspect, 22-year-old Mohamed Abou-Arabi from Michigan, knew the victim according to an SMPD statement.
SMPD officers worked with a police department in Michigan and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force to get a warrant for Abou-Arabi's arrest and search for additional evidence. Abou-Arabi was arrested and extradited from Michigan to California on Jan. 18 and was booked on one count of murder at the SMPD jail.
