Snapchat Stops Promoting President Trump's Account

SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica-based company Snapchat announced this week that they will no longer promote President Donald Trump's account on the app, citing his tweets.
Trump's campaign has spent a significant amount of money on Snapchat advertising, according to Engadget, and the app will no longer feature the president's account in the Discover section.
The company doesn't plan to remove any content or change how subscribers view the content, according to media reports.

“We are not currently promoting the President’s content on Snapchat’s Discover platform,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. “We will not amplify voices who incite racial violence and injustice by giving them free promotion on Discover. Racial violence and injustice have no place in our society and we stand together with all who seek peace, love, equality, and justice in America.”
