Suspect Arrested For Violent Rape In Santa Monica Apartment
SMPD detectives determined the suspect entered the victim's apartment through an unlocked sliding door of an elevated patio.

SANTA MONICA, CA – A 42-year-old man on probation was facing possible rape charges, among others, Tuesday for an alleged early morning attack on a woman in the bedroom of her Santa Monica apartment. Final charges are pending the District Attorney’s Office review, police said.
Dylan James Jensen, 42, is accused of entering the victim's apartment in the 2900 block of Fourth Street at about 6 a.m. Monday through a sliding glass door of an elevated patio, according to Santa Monica Police Lt.Saul Rodriguez.
Through a preliminary investigation, detectives determined the suspect entered the victim’s apartment through an unlocked sliding door of an elevated patio, got a knife from the kitchen and proceeded to the victim’s bedroom while she was sleeping in her bed. The victim was woken up by the suspect, who then forced himself on the victim and sexually assaulted her, police said. The suspect then fled the location and the victim immediately called 911. The victim was able to identify the suspect, police said.

Jensen was booked for rape, sodomy, oral copulation, sexual battery, burglary, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and probation violation. He remains in custody with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office with no bail options pending future court proceedings.
