Transformer Fire In Santa Monica

The fire department advised people to avoid the area due to possible delays and hazards.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Authorities responded to a transformer fire in Santa Monica, emergency personnel said early Thursday.

The Santa Monica Fire Department alerted the public to the blaze at Second Street and Idaho Avenue via a tweet around 6:40 a.m., advising people to avoid the area due to possible delays and hazards.

The department reported an hour later that the incident had been cleared.
