Trump's Granddaughter's Southland Erewhon Shopping Video Sparks Backlash
Kai Trump recently posted a video titled "I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon."

SANTA MONICA, CA — President Donald Trump's 18-year-old granddaughter is facing backlash for a social media video she posted this week titled "I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon," in which she racks up a $233 bill at the notoriously pricey grocery store.
The 18-minute video, posted by Kai Trump on her YouTube channel, chronicles her first-ever visit to the Erewhon in Santa Monica.
"If you guys don't know Erewhon, Erewhon is most expensive grocery store pretty much out there. Everything's crazy expensive. So we're going to get my favorite stuff ... and then go home and try it out," she says at the start of the video.

Trump leisurely shops the store during the first part of the video, accompanied by an unseen male companion behind the camera. The pair check out supplements, prepared foods, a water bottle and more, placing some of the items into her basket.
At one point, Trump expresses shock at a $60 candle — "that's crazy!," she says.

"I don't spend a lot of money," she adds.
In another moment, Trump said she'll have to "file for bankruptcy" after spotting a store-branded sweater priced at $165.
At the end of the excursion, Trump makes a swift exit from the store onto Wilshire Boulevard, where several police officers on motorcycles and in SUVs are waiting. A black Chevrolet Suburban pulls up and she gets inside.
The video cuts to the inside of a hotel room, where Trump goes over her haul while sipping on Erewhon's $21 Hailey Bieber Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie.
Many of the top-rated comments on the video referenced the French Revolution. "I kind of understand how a pre-revolution French peasant felt now," one person wrote.
Others pointed out the video was posted just days after the U.S. and Israel first launched airstrikes across Iran. "You and barron should be in Iran right now," another person wrote, referencing the president's 19-year-old son.
Kai Trump made a name for herself playing golf in high school and committed to play for the University of Miami as a member of the 2026 signing class. She's already made over $1 million in endorsement deals, according to Sports Illustrated.
She is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump.
