Twitter Down Across The Globe, Millions Find Time On Their Hands
Thousands of users reported that Twitter was down, not loading new tweets since 3 p.m.

SANTA MONICA, CA —Twitter stopped working late Thursday afternoon, as reported by about 55,000 users on Downdetector.com.
Twitter started having problems around 2:45 p.m. when the app slowly stopped publishing new tweets. Media reported that Twitter reported being "overcapacity."
A statement on the Twitter webpage said there was no evidence of a security breach or hack.

Downdetector.com showed problems with the app were worldwide, though primarily in the United States, until about 4 p.m. Pacific time. At that time, tweets began to reappear, though users steadily confirmed issues with the app.
