2 Injured In Teen Brawl At Santee Summer Concerts Event
Roughly 1,500 people attended the event, including about 100 unsupervised teens, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
SANTEE, CA — Two people were injured during a teen brawl at a community concert at a Santee park.
The fight broke out shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday during the Santee Summer Concerts event at Town Center Community Park at 550 Park Center Drive. Roughly 1,500 people attended the concert series kickoff event, including about 100 unsupervised teens, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
"At some point, two teenagers became involved in a fight with each other," sheriff's Lt. Chris Galve said in a news release. "Multiple other teenagers joined in the fight and one sustained minor injuries. During the altercation, one adult tried to detain one of the subjects involved and was assaulted by several other teenagers."

Deputies arrived and began aiding the victims while investigating the brawl. The large crowd of teens became "unruly" and "hostile," however, prompting authorities to request a sheriff's helicopter for support, according to Galve. The crowd eventually dispersed. No other victims were found.
In all, two people suffered minor injuries and eight suspects were identified in connection with the fight, Galve said.
