2 Killed In Motorcycle Crash Amid Police Chase In East County
The motorcycle fled from officers westbound on Main Street in El Cajon, police said.
EL CAJON, CA — Two people were killed after crashing the motorcycle they were riding while trying to escape police in San Diego's East County, authorities said.
The crash happened at 11:38 p.m. Saturday after police officers tried to stop a black Harley Davidson motorcycle for a traffic violation at 1700 East Main St. in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department. The motorcycle fled from officers westbound on Main Street at a high rate of speed.
The motorcycle pulled away from the pursuing officer and crashed into the back of a blue Toyota Tacoma and black Hyundai Sonata at 1300 East Main St., Lt. Darrin Forster said. The 42-year-old man driving the motorcycle and the 42-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims names were held pending family notification.
