3 Arrested At DUI Checkpoint In Santee

A total of 1,097 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and 72​ drivers were sent to secondary evaluations, authorities said.

SANTEE, CA — Three people were arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint in Santee, authorities said.

The checkpoint was conducted from 8:30 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m Sunday in the 8800 block of North Magnolia Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

In addition, seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, one driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and three vehicles were towed, according to the department. A total of 1,097 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and 72 drivers were sent to secondary evaluations.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
