A City Council Quickie
With the public portion lasting well less than an hour, the council got down to some quick business Wednesday night.
Adjournment in Memory: Ruth Rosalie Northcote, 86, passed away in her El Cajon home on July 21, 2011. She was a choir director and Sunday School teacher in the area and had assisted in her family dairy business in Santee for 32 years. After the closed, she helped open and operate the Mobile Home Community in town. She was active in and PTA, amongst other things she did to brighten the community.

Abut a month ago, when we started tracking this, Town Center Park was at #538 on the list. And, as of August 25, it is up to #12 on the list with about 131,039 votes!

• The final act by the council on Wednesday was the approval for the Community Development Commission to begin a payment schedule to the state, a result of California which are being challenged in state Supreme Court. The City Attorney said the payments essentially had to be approved before the court makes a decision in January, though a decision should be made before the first payment goes through.
