LAKESIDE, CA — One person was killed Thursday in a collision at a rural road crossing near El Capitan Reservoir.
The fatal two-vehicle wreck occurred on El Monte Road at El Cajon Mountain Truck Trail in Lakeside about 11 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim died at the scene of the crash, the CHP reported. The person's identity was not immediately made public.
Details on the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available.
