SANTEE, CA — Santee Fire Department received a grant to purchase new firefighting hose and nozzle equipment aimed at improving emergency response and firefighter safety, officials announced.
The grant was provided by the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation and the San Diego River Conservancy.
Fire officials said the new equipment is designed to provide greater durability, improved reliability and better water flow control during structure fires, wildland fires and other emergencies.
"Providing our firefighters with dependable, high-quality equipment allows them to perform their jobs more safely and effectively," Fire Chief Harley Wallace said. "This grant directly strengthens our ability to protect the Santee community when every second counts."
The department said it continues to invest in equipment and training to maintain emergency preparedness and improve response capabilities.
