SANTEE, CA — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday night after being trapped between two vehicles in Santee, authorities said.
Deputies responded at 10:34 p.m. to the 7900 block of Poplin Drive after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a traffic collision, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found the pedestrian trapped between the vehicles and suffering severe injuries. They provided first aid and used a tourniquet to control significant bleeding before paramedics arrived, sheriff's officials said.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local trauma center for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, cooperated with deputies and was evaluated by medical personnel.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not believed to have contributed to the collision.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Santee Sheriff's Station at 619-956-4000.
