SANTEE, CA — A blood drive will be held next week at the San Diego County Credit Union location in Santee as local blood supplies remain low, organizers said.
San Diego Blood Bank will collect donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at SDCCU at 286 Town Center Parkway in Santee. The drive is one of eight being held at SDCCU locations across San Diego and Riverside counties ahead of the Labor Day holiday.
"Currently, there is an extremely low inventory of blood and it's especially important to donate before the Labor Day holiday, when travel and outdoor activities increase the demand for emergency trauma care," officials said in a news release.

SDCCU has partnered with San Diego Blood Bank for more than 20 years.
"Every blood donation plays a vital role in helping local hospitals care for patients in need," SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell said in a statement.
Donors will receive one free ticket to SeaWorld San Diego's Howl-O-Scream event while supplies last, according to SDCCU.
