• Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Arson After Santee Brush Fire (patch.com) — Santee residents are being alerted after a transient man was arrested on suspicion of arson for admitting he started a small brush fire in the San Diego River bottom near Cuyamaca Street and Town Center Parkway. The Santee Fire Department quickly contained the 10-by-10-foot blaze with no property damage or evacuations, and the suspect now faces arson charges and a citation under a Santee fire ordinance.
   

• Homicide investigation underway after man dies, another injured in Santee (10news.com) — A man was killed and another injured during a violent incident at a home on the 10,800 block of Grand Fork Drive in Santee Monday afternoon, and sheriff's detectives are treating it as a homicide. Investigators say the surviving man, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, has been arrested and questioned, and they believe this was an isolated case with no ongoing threat to the community.
   

• New Substance Use Treatment Center Will Expand Care in South Bay (countynewscenter.com) — County leaders highlighted a growing network of behavioral health services that includes a planned acute psychiatric hospital in Santee as part of a broader regional expansion. While a new substance use treatment center just opened in National City, Santee residents can expect future access to more intensive mental health care locally as the county continues building out its continuum of care.
