Homicide Investigation Underway After Man Found Dead, Another Man Hurt In Santee

SANTEE, CA — A man was found dead and another man was injured and arrested Monday following a reported assault at a Santee home, authorities said.

Deputies responded around 2:10 p.m. to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a home in the 10800 block of Grand Fork Drive, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found a man suffering from traumatic injuries inside the property. He was pronounced dead at about 2:30 p.m.

Deputies also found a second man on the property suffering from traumatic injuries. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, then arrested. His name was not released.

Sheriff's homicide investigators were working to determine the circumstances and motive. Authorities said the incident appeared to be isolated and there was no threat to the community.
