Driver Sought After Fatal Hit-And-Run In East County

LEMON GROVE, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a driver who fled after a fatal collision in East County.

Deputies responded just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday to Viewcrest Drive and Imperial Avenue in Lemon Grove, where they found a man lying in the roadway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name was withheld pending family notification.

Authorities have not released a description of the driver or vehicle involved.
