Armed Woman Arrested After Stabbing Woman, Assaulting Officer: Police
Police said the victim and suspect did not know each other.
EL CAJON, CA — A woman was arrested after stabbing another woman and assaulting a police officer in East County, authorities said.
Officers responded around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Prince Street in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
Officers found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to her arm and torso. She was provided immediate medical attention and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The suspect, later identified as Veronica Flores, 39, fled the area and ran across Interstate 8, police said. Officers used a department drone to track her movements and direct officers to her location.
As officers attempted to detain Flores, she fled while armed with a knife, according to police. Officers deployed a Taser and took her into custody.

While she was being taken to jail, Flores assaulted an officer, causing injury, police said. She was booked into Las Colinas Women's Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee on multiple felony charges.
Police said the victim and suspect did not know each other.
