Threats Against Santee High Schools Under Investigation

As a precaution, extra law enforcement officers were placed at both campuses.

SANTEE, CA – Authorities on Monday are investigating threats against two high schools in Santee. The Grossmont Union High School District and school administrators at Santana and West Hills high schools were notified of an emailed threat that referred to a possible act of violence, according to the district.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is investigating the unsubstantiated threats of violence, district officials said.

"We appreciate the concern and vigilance of our students, families, and community in helping to keep our campuses safe," a statement from the district read. "GUHSD will continue to work closely with the Sheriff's Department on any threats and want to assure all in our school communities of our commitment to student and staff safety."

As a precaution, extra law enforcement officers were placed at both campuses.

"The investigation has found no evidence to suggest the threat has any validity," sheriff's officials said. "There is currently no immediate threat to either campus or students thus far."

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Tipsters may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
