Swingin' At Town Center Community Park

Jess and I have attended the at for the , and it's been a real blast!  As a lover of many styles of music I have been quite pleased with the eclectic selection of bands chosen to entertain our awesome community.

Yesterday we were treated to a high energy performance by the Phat Cat Swingers.  These Vegas-style swing players really rocked the lawn chairs with their jumpin', jivin' & wailin'! Fun to listen to and fun to watch, as evident by the bevy of people dancing their shoes off!

Many people are willing to travel a reasonable distance to hear great live music, and pay for it too. This summer we have only to stay in our own town to experience performances every bit as good, if not better!  In fact, tonight was one of the most enjoyable acts we've ever had the pleasure of seeing and would definitely try to catch their show again in the future.

But not only have we been impressed with the quality of entertainment, the turn out from our residents has been quite remarkable as well. Once again we have witnessed the incredible sense of community found here in Santee!  It's wonderful to see the many clusters of family and friends having a great time, whether , feasting, playing ball, hanging out by the playground or just relaxing. I certainly can't think of a better way to enjoy the gorgeous setting of on a Thursday evening.

If you haven't had a chance to check it out, don't fret!  The will be continuing for the next three Thursdays (6:30-8:30 p.m.).  Upcoming acts include doo-wop, oldies & classic rock.  It would be a shame if every resident didn't get a chance to experience this fun-filled event. The city is providing something very special to us and I for one am grateful to be a part of it!
