Brush Fire Sparks In Lakeside
The fire, called the Willows Fire, has burned about an acre, according to Cal Fire.

LAKESIDE, CA – A brush fire sparked Tuesday afternoon at Cactus County Park in Lakeside, sending smoke over San Diego's East County.
The blaze broke out at the park at 10610 Ashwood St., near El Capitan High School, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Firefighters from Cal Fire and Lakeside Fire Protection District responded to the scene.
The fire, called the Willows Fire, burned about an acre, according to Cal Fire. No structural damage or injuries were reported.

El Capitan High School canceled all after school activities due to the blaze. Students were released after a normal school day, exiting to the south of the campus at the rodeo lot.
Ashwood Street was closed between Willows Road and Mapleview Street. Authorities advised the public to avoid the area.
