Brush Fire Sparks Off I-8, Backs Up Traffic In East County
The CHP issued a congestion alert for the freeway in the area.
EL CAJON, CA – A brush fire sparked alongside Interstate 8 Wednesday, backing up traffic in East County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The blaze broke out off westbound I-8 at Greenfield Drive in El Cajon, according to the CHP. The CHP issued a congestion alert for the freeway in the area.
The right lane was initially blocked but reopened by 2:10 p.m., according to Caltrans.
