CIF Baseball: Santana Loses to Top-Seeded Cathedral
Sultans will face Grossmont Valley League rival Monte Vista in an elimination game on Friday.
After skating past University City 7-1 behind a 12-hit attack in Tuesday’s San Diego Section CIF Division III play-in game, the Sultans (11-18-1) fell to top-seeded Cathedral Catholic 7-1 in Wednesday’s first round.
Senior left fielder Sean Ross accounted for two of Santana’s seven hits against the Dons (27-4).
Santana will face Grossmont Valley League rival Monte Vista for the fourth time this season in Friday’s Division III elimination round at 3:30.
