City of Santee Erects Signs in Opposition to Power Plant
Three banners are up at Santee's most traveled spots, signaling the City's opposition to the power plant proposed to be built near town.

Banners expressing opposition the Quail Brush Power Plant Project, which is proposed to be constructed near the Sycamore Landfill, were hung by the City of Santee at three key spots around town earlier this week.

The resolution, voted 5-0 by the council, shows the council's formal opposition to the proposed project based on the city's General Plan Objectives, policies that seek to "preserve and protect the SR-52 gateway and it's panoramic views, to preserve and protect the natural amenities within Mission Trails Park, and to ensure that land use incompatibilities" are fully disclosed, analyzed and mitigated.
They can be seen near the on Mission Gorge Road, Magnolia Avenue by the freeway interchange, and at Mast Boulevard and West Hills Parkway.
