Santee Honors Our Veterans on 11-11-21 with a One-of-a-Kind Memorial Monument and Bridge Dedication

This Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11:11 a.m. the City of Santee and the Santee Chamber of Commerce cordially invite all our proud Veterans, friends and families to join us in the official unveiling and dedication of the new Santee Veterans Memorial and Bridge at the corner of Fanita Parkway and Mast Boulevard.

“The Summer of 2021 was when the Santee Veterans Memorial & Bridge went from a dream to a reality,” says Dustin Trotter proudly. Dustin Trotter, owner of TDT Construction and local resident, spearheaded this project and its mission, as it was a dream of his to provide a physical place for Santee to honor and recognize veterans, the wars they fought in, and their service contributions.

The tailored made monument and the dedication of the Mast Boulevard bridge as the official Veterans Memorial Bridge will memorialize the significant sacrifices our Veterans gave to protect our Country and allow us to pay tribute to the men and women who helped preserve our freedom as we preserve their memory and educate the next generation.

This project was funded by private donations and fundraising efforts. The administration of the project was supported by the Santee Chamber of Commerce.

Every phase of this project was geared towards honoring our Veterans and recognizing their significance. The memorial structure is 11 ft x 11 ft x 11 ft in recognition of the origins of Veterans Day and the end of WWI on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. (READ FULL NEWS RELEASE)
